D-Link DES-108 Switch 8 Port 10/100 Unmanaged Metal Desktop
Designed for enterprise communications
D-Link DES-108 Switch 10/100 Unmanaged Desktop Switch provides a fast, easy and economical way to connect up to eight devices for fast file transfer and seamless media streaming.
Powerful and versatile, it eliminates network bottlenecks while giving home offices and small to medium businesses the power to fine-tune performance.
DES-108 was designed with durability and performance in mind and its robust metal housing ensures that the product can withstand extreme temperatures.
It can be placed in typical industrial environments such as factories, construction and mining sites. This helps dissipate heat to reduce stress on internal components.
Easy to install
This unmanaged switch comes with easily accessible front Ethernet ports, and a 10/100 automatic sensor with two LEDs on each port to quickly distinguish between link status and speed.
The DES-108 also supports the Auto-MDI / MDIX crossover allowing each port to be directly connected to a server, hub, router or switch using regular twisted-pair Ethernet cables.
Included is IEEE 802.1p QoS support, which organizes and prioritizes time-sensitive and mission-critical data for efficient delivery.
Energy saving technology
DES-108 is part of D-Link Green ™, an environmentally friendly technology from D-Link which provides energy savings, lower energy consumption, and longer product life without sacrificing operational performance or functionality.
It supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient-Ethernet (EEE) standards that detects when a connected device is switched off or if there is no Ethernet traffic.
In this case, the switch will turn off the passive port, saving a great deal of power. This helps companies reduce their electricity bills without compromising performance.
A friend of the environment The DES-108 switch is designed with the environment in mind. It is compliant with Energy Star Level V, CEC and MEPS regulations requiring the use of energy efficient power inverters.
It is designed to comply with RoHS standards to reduce the use of hazardous materials to a minimum and is packaged with an Energy Star Level V Qualified Transformer with recyclable packaging making this product truly environmentally friendly.
D-Link Corporation changed its name from Datex Systems Inc.
In 1994, when it became a public company and when it became the first network company on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
It is now publicly traded on the TSEC and NSE stock exchanges. In 1988, Datex Systems Inc.
LANSmart’s first peer-to-peer network operating system in the industry, is able to work concurrently with early networking systems such as NetWare and Novell’s TCP / IP which most small network operating systems cannot do at the time. In 2013, D-Link released its master draft of the dual-band 802.11ac AC1750 wireless router (DIR-868L) which had the fastest wireless transfer rate ever tested by SmallNetBuilder as of May 2013. In April 2019, D-Link was named “Gartner Peer Insights ‘Customers’ Choice of Infrastructure for Wired and Wireless LAN Access”.
